Setting up a social area in Reading

I needed a bespoke home bar after hosting a party where we lacked space. I decided to search near the Oracle Shopping Centre.

I found the website while scrolling and emailed photos. Central Bedroom and Kitchens replied with a quote that seemed right for the work.

The process of organising this project was actually quite detailed. I dedicated several hours thinking on the layout of the space before even choosing up the phone. Even when not in operation, it works as a lovely piece of furniture that elevates the entire look of the property. I used a bit effort arranging my collection on the shelves to make a visual display. The mirrored panels really help in displaying the bottles and adding depth to the small alcove. It has inspired me to try creating new drinks that I previously felt were too complicated to bother in a standard kitchen. Having the tap close might have been good, but the area constraints resulted in we decided without it to save storage space. This was a conscious decision we made during the design stage, and I certainly not regret it. The additional cupboard space for napkins and tools is much more useful to me in the long period.

There were a few of minor limitations that are fair to mentioning for a honest view. The lead period for the custom panels was a bit slower than I originally hoped. It lasted about eight weeks from the first payment to the final installation appointment. While this is expected for high-quality furniture, it meant a bit of patience on my end. I had hoped to have it ready for a certain birthday, but we passed that date by a few days. However, the communication from the office about the delay was regular, so I was never left in the unknowing. I rather hold a little longer for a product that is made to endure than receive a hasty work that fails after a couple years. The start cost estimate was additionally a little lower than the total bill, mostly because I chose to improve the hardware and include more internal lighting midway during the build. These changes were completely my fitted bar choice, and the team was very clear about the extra costs involved. Another small issue was the amount of boxes remaining after the install. Although the technician tidied up the work site well, there was a large pile of waste to dispose of in my recycling. It wasn't a big problem, but something to keep in mind if you have limited waste room. Despite these minor points, the total journey was vastly good. The quality of the fit is much better to anything I might have purchased from a shop. It feels solid and well-constructed, and I am confident it will withstand years of use. I feel the value it has given to my home far exceeds the upfront cost. It has transformed the way I enjoy my living area, making it much more social. I not anymore feel cramped when people come over.

The outcome of this bar project has provided me the drive to start a larger task in the kitchen later season. It has been a great upgrade to my life, and I look ahead to many years of using it with relatives and friends.
